If I want to go by the Atkins Diet, what should I eat and what should I not eat?

If you are going to do Atkins, read Atkins. There is so much misinformation about his diet plan that is put out there by people who never read his book. On his plan, you eat tons of green vegetables, adequate protein, enough fat to use as your primary energy source. But you also read about all the health reasons to stay away from a high carbohydrate diet, like obesity, diabetes and heart disease. You also learn that it shouldn't be a diet that you have to eventually go off of, it's just your new way of eating. And really, after a few weeks, you'll feel so good and have so much energy, you'll never consider going back to your old ways. Read the book, then do the diet. Please don't just rely on what friends say, or what you think the diet is all about.
